Two peasants returning from the fields, the first one is holding a hoe with his wine barrel (probably empty), the second one is caring on his back a hood full of vegetables. A woman spins its wool, the second knits, while a child runs into his father arms.

We recognize in the background the church of Saint-Léger de Royat and the famous auvergnat volcano: the Puy-de-Dôme.
