This calcite wall plaque features a portrait of Jesus Christ, the central figure of Christianity, presented within a delicately ornamented alcove. Finely decorative motifs frame the low-relief, whose central figure stands out with remarkable depth and definition.
This artwork is inspired by an engraving by Léonard Morel-Ladeuil, a goldsmith and sculptor from Clermont, and echoes the precision and sensitivity of his work while giving it a timeless, mineral presence through calcite.
