He is shown here with his attributes: a trident and his horses. His son Triton is also present on the left side of the bas-relief. Like his father, he carries a trident, but his main attribute is a marine conch shell, whose sound is so powerful that it can be heard from one end of the sea to the other. He is playing it here in order to stir up the waves.
