The Auvergne bourrée, a traditional dance from the Massif Central, is depicted here in pairs or a small joyful quartet. On the left, a cabrette player enlivens the scene with lively notes, while in the distance, the Saint-Léger Church of Royat and the Puy-de-Dôme rise majestically, overlooking the celebration from the volcanic heights of Auvergne.
