Representation of the first rack railway train to the Puy-de-Dôme built in 1907.
It used to link Lamartine Square in central Clermont-Ferrand to an artificial platform next to the top of the volcano at a height of 1414 meters and was operated until 1926. Then a road access replaced it.
Since 2012 a new train links up the bottom of the volcano to the top.
