The goddess Diana appears in a domestic posture, surrounded by two cherubs. One, resting on her lap, is kissed by the goddess and holds an arrow, while the other, seated at her feet, holds the bowl: both elements symbolizing her role as a huntress.
The engraver’s finesse is evident in the rendering of textures, particularly the thick fabric of the deeply folded curtain on the left of the low-relief. These draperies echo the folds of the bedcover, creating a subtle dialogue between the fabrics and adding a sense of realism and movement to the composition.
